Psychological Counselling, Nature Coaching, Horticultural Therapy, Stress Management, Workshops, Mindfulness in Nature, Animal Assisted Activities, Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing), Burnout Prevention, Resilience Training, Time-Out Support, (Medical) Herbalism, Assisted Gardening, The Wheel of the Year.

I aim to inspire or re-inspire people of all ages to reconnect with nature and/or the garden and to provide advisory, creative, inspiring and health-promoting activities to support life-strengthening processes.
Nature therapies, which also include horticultural therapy are a complementary form of therapy for people at all stages of life; they are used to great effect in retirement and nursing homes (especially for dementia patients), in schools and kindergartens, in trauma management, in rehabilitation facilities and assisted living facilities. Healthcare professionals and staff in institutions and schools also benefit from activities in gardens and landscapes.

I usually work outdoors on location, in forests and landscapes in the surrounding area but I can also work indoors. My counselling and nature coaching sessions are held exclusively in nature.

Horticultural Therapy/Landscape Therapy

The garden as a place where "one" can simply be, in which you experience all your senses, where you can ground yourself and experience the cycle of life so that you become aware of your own vitality. The landscape as an experience of nature in the annual cycle allows you to access nature with all your senses. People (re)establish roots with their environment and perceive themselves as a formative and integral part of the world, effectively counteracting the increasing alienation from nature that many people suffer from nowadays.

Incense for homes, spaces and individuals

Incense made from native plants, ritual work, burning incense in homes and other areas, individual incense.
Our ancestors smoked resins and dried herbs and plant parts (leaves, bark, etc.) to mark special events in life or at certain points in the wheel of the year, thereby cleansing, protecting and strengthening the body, mind and surroundings. Burning incense in the home is a good idea, for example, during periods of transition or detachment such as moving house, birth, death or for energetically charged places, such as rooms or locations that create an unpleasant or tense feeling in people and animals.

Shinrin Yoku (Forest bathing)

Forest Bathing (shinrin yoku in Japanese) has been established in Japan for decades and is a recognized healing method that is prescribed by doctors. So-called "forest medicine” is taught and researched as a separate scientific discipline at universities in Japan. Spending time in the forest has been proven to lower blood pressure and reduce stress hormones, as well as strengthening the immune system. A regular stay in the forest also has a very positive mental and psychological effect, which is why forest bathing is now also offered in many rehab clinics. Forest bathing is about consciously experiencing and enjoying the forest with all your senses, slowing down, grounding yourself and strengthening your own connection with nature. I offer forest bathing for small groups but also for couples, families and individuals.

About me

Following a successful career as a freelance translator for many years, I decided to professionalise my deep connection with nature and my love of gardening by developing my ‘green bricks’. In 2012 I received my Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Horticulture. In October 2015, I completed my 2.5-year training as a horticultural therapist at the Fritz Perls Institute in Hückeswagen (under Professor Hilarion Petzold). I then completed a 2.5-year herbalist training programme at the Aira Heilpflanzenschule in Krefeld. I am a member of the German Society for Nature Therapy, Forest Therapy/Wood Medicine and Green Care - DGN e.V. and have been able to expand my knowledge and experience through internships and by visiting institutions and gardens. I attend seminars and workshops whenever possible and exchange ideas with colleagues. I am a Reiki master as taught by Dr Usui and have been active in nature conservation (e.g. with NABU) and animal welfare for many years. In May 2020 I qualified as a BfG health practitioner and work according to the guidelines and obligations of the professional regulations of the BfG professional association for health practitioners in the German Society for Alternative Medicine (DGAM). I completed a certificate course as a instructor for forest bathing/mindfulness in the forest at the Deutsche Akademie für Waldbaden & Gesundheit in the autumn of 2020. In September 2021, I completed my training as a psychological counsellor at the Naturheilschule Isolde Richter.
